About
For more than 40 years, Specialty Lighting has manufactured precision lighting components and assemblies for the aerospace industry, along with durable commercial handheld lighting products trusted in demanding environments. Our reputation is built on producing dependable, high-quality components that meet the performance standards required by both military and commercial customers.
Today, our product portfolio includes aerospace connectors, lamp assemblies, knobs, transformers, switch assemblies, automatic grease cups, and handheld spotlights. Many of our aerospace components support legacy aircraft platforms, where replacement parts must match original specifications for continued operation. A large portion of our aerospace products are used on military aircraft, helping customers maintain critical equipment with reliable OEM replacement parts.
In addition to aerospace manufacturers and maintenance organizations, our handheld lighting products are used by maintenance professionals across a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. We focus on delivering products that are rugged, reliable, and built to perform in demanding conditions.
Our Story
Specialty Lighting became part of the Control Products Corporation family in 1990, relocating operations from Anaheim, California to Grand Prairie, Texas. As the business evolved, the commercial lighting, aerospace component, and knob product lines were brought together under the Specialty Lighting name, while the F-16 lighting product line remained with Control Products Corporation.
In 2011, following the sale of Control Products Corporation, Jayne Christian—then Vice President of Control Products Corporation, daughter of CEO H. Wayne Hanks, and a 30-year veteran of the aerospace industry—purchased Specialty Lighting. Since then, the company has remained independently owned and operated, continuing its commitment to manufacturing dependable specialty lighting products and aerospace components while providing the responsive service and long-term support customers have come to expect.
Whether supporting legacy aircraft or supplying durable lighting solutions for industrial maintenance, Specialty Lighting remains focused on quality manufacturing, reliable products, and lasting customer relationships.
